If your card has expired, been lost, or you simply want to switch to a different bank account, you can update your payment details in seconds through your Abound dashboard.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Log in: Go to your Abound account.
Navigate to Payments: Tap the 'Payments' tab or the 'Card Icon' on your dashboard.
Add New Card: Select 'Add a new card' and enter your 16-digit card number, expiry date, and CVV.
Set as Primary: Once the card is added, ensure you select 'Set as Primary' to make it the default card for your automatic monthly repayments.
Important Details to Remember
When should I update my card?
We recommend updating your card at least 48 hours before your next payment date. This ensures our system has enough time to switch the automated Continuous Payment Authority (CPA) to the new card.
What happens to my old card?
Once you have added a new primary card, you can choose to delete the old one. However, our system requires at least one active debit card on file at all times to maintain your loan agreement.
Which cards do you accept?
✅ Accepted: UK Visa and Mastercard Debit cards.
❌ Not Accepted: Credit cards, prepaid cards (like some travel cards), or non-UK cards.
Why is there a small 'pending' charge?
When you add a new card, you might see a temporary transaction of £0.00 or £0.10 on your bank statement. This is a standard security check (often called an active card check) to ensure the card is valid. It is not a fee and will disappear from your statement within a few days.
I’ve lost my card - what should I do?
If your card is lost or stolen, please report it to your bank immediately. Once your bank issues a replacement, log in to Abound and follow the steps above to add the new card details so you don't miss a repayment.
